Chief Operating Officer and Director of Financial Risks

As Chief Operating Officer at BlueShift, Leanne is a collaborative leader bringing with her 15+ years of a broad range of experience in finance, accounting, internal controls for financial reporting (CSOX, SOX), business process evaluation/optimization, controls rationalization, program and project governance, management, advisory and assessment, IT risk assessment, and audit (financial, operational, information system and regulatory). Her wealth of experience in operations and processes has been the key to BlueShift Advisory’s operational capability and capacity. She oversees the design and use of technology to automate the firm’s operational functions as well as the active recruitment and support for our senior consultants and BlueShift’s experienced panel of subject matter experts.

In addition to her internal role, Leanne has also been active in developing and maintaining her own set of clients, focusing on helping them navigate and transform and align their SOX and internal control programs with entity level objectives. She has a proven ability to build, lead and support teams during periods of significant growth and change. She is recognized for having adopted a progressive approach to risk assessment and mitigation and for driving efficiencies through effective administration. She is a keen adopter of digital solutions and automation for controls and processes.

Leanne has extended her professional expertise and passion for supporting corporate social responsible entities as a Board of Governor member at Windmill Microlending for the past 8 years, seeing this organization grow into Canada’s largest private lender of microloans that support new Canadians wanting to recertify in their pre-Canada profession or trade.

Qualifications

Leanne is a CPA, CA, holds a CRMA designation and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting with Distinction from Athabasca University.
