Lara Gaede is an accomplished executive, advisor, and sustainability leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning professional services, financial regulation, accounting standards, governance, and financial services. Most recently, as Lead Financial Services Climate Change and Sustainability Partner at EY, she built and led high-performing teams delivering climate change, sustainability, sustainable finance, and assurance solutions to some of the sector’s most complex organizations. Throughout her career, Lara has helped organizations navigate evolving regulatory requirements, strengthen sustainability reporting and governance practices, and integrate environmental, social, and financial considerations into strategic decision-making. She is recognized for her ability to bring together diverse stakeholders, translate complex technical issues into practical solutions, and provide trusted leadership in rapidly changing environments.

Qualifications

Lara brings a unique combination of executive leadership experience and premier professional qualifications. She holds the Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant designation (FCPA, FCA), is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and is both an Institute of Corporate Directors Director (ICD.D) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Her credentials are complemented by extensive board and committee experience, including service with accounting standard-setting organizations, sustainability advisory committees, and governance bodies. Combined with degrees in Accounting and Mathematics, these qualifications reflect a strong foundation in finance, governance, strategy, risk management, and sustainability, enabling Lara to provide insightful and balanced perspectives to organizations and boards
