Yat is a seasoned advisor and brings with him over 15 years of experience leading organizations in strategy development, risk management, finance and audit. He has worked with executives and boards in highly respected organizations in the private and public sectors. With a background in finance and leadership, his career expands several industries including healthcare, real estate development, banking and post-secondary education. Yat’s broad and varied experience was developed as his career progressed from entry-level positions to the executive level. Yat is passionate about helping businesses and organizations create value for their stakeholders beyond the bottom line.
Qualifications:
Yat holds a Certificate in Risk Management and Assurance (CRMA), a certification in COSO ERM, a Lean Six Sigma green belt and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting and finance from the University of Alberta.
Leanne Peterson, Partner Blueshift Advisory Ltd. Canada
Leanne brings to this role at BlueShift 15+ years of a broad range of experience in finance, accounting, internal controls for financial reporting (CSOX, SOX), business process evaluation/optimization, controls rationalization, program and project governance, management, advisory and assessment, IT risk assessment, and audit (financial, operational, information system and regulatory).
Qualifications:
Leanne is a CPA (CA) and holds a CRMA designation. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting and finance with Distinction from Athabasca University.
Lara Gaede, Executive Lead Sustainability
Lara Gaede is an accomplished executive, advisor, and sustainability leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning professional services, financial regulation, accounting standards, governance, and financial services. Most recently, as Lead Financial Services Climate Change and Sustainability Partner at EY, she built and led high-performing teams delivering climate change, sustainability, sustainable finance, and assurance solutions to some of the sector’s most complex organizations. Throughout her career, Lara has helped organizations navigate evolving regulatory requirements, strengthen sustainability reporting and governance practices, and integrate environmental, social, and financial considerations into strategic decision-making. She is recognized for her ability to bring together diverse stakeholders, translate complex technical issues into practical solutions, and provide trusted leadership in rapidly changing environments.

Lara brings a unique combination of executive leadership experience and premier professional qualifications. She holds the Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant designation (FCPA, FCA), is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and is both an Institute of Corporate Directors Director (ICD.D) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
Alan Lee, Director of IT and Security Risk
Alan has over 15 years of experience in the technology and information systems sector and is also the founder of Infratekture Solutions Inc., an independent consulting company that provides Information Technology solutions to Canadian companies across a variety of industries including airlines and the energy sector.
Qualifications:
Alan is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), has completed the Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundations (ITIL) certification, holds the TOGAF 9 Certification Standard in Business Architecture, has earned the Project Management Institute Certificate (PMI), and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Alan has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and a Microcomputer Specialist Diploma from MacEwan University.
Ariane Tennant, Director of HR and Culture Risk
Ariane has over 15 years of experience across the spectrum of Human Resource management, having held leadership roles, in large, complex, and matrixed organizations. She brings with her a wealth of experience that include working with boards, unions and employee association representatives.

Ariane is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and a SCRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM - SCP).
Andrea Caners, Senior Advisor
Andrea is a seasoned finance and risk management professional with over 15 years of experience in strategic financial management, governance, and policy development. Andrea has worked extensively with non-profit organizations and highly regulated industries in both the private and public sectors. Her passion lies in partnering with clients who are dedicated to making a positive impact on their communities.
Qualifications:
Andrea is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA from the University of Calgary. She has also completed advanced studies in Global Energy Management & Sustainability at Aarhus University in Denmark, Doing Business in China at Peking University, and International Business at Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the University of Manitoba.
Ryan Lee, ERM and Insurance Specialist
Ryan has 20 years of experience in the post-secondary education sector. He has served as a faculty member of Canadian business schools and as administrator during those years. He is a published researcher on the topics of risk and insurance including Enterprise Risk Management. He has published in industry journals as well as presented at many industry conferences. Ryan is also a co-author on the risk management and insurance textbook used in educational institutions across Canada.

Ryan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in Risk Management and Insurance and a B.S.B.A from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Alyque Virjee, Risk and Controls Specialist
Alyque is an accomplished Risk Management Consultant with a demonstrated history of working for reputed consulting firms globally. His area of expertise and prior experience include Controls Transformation, System Implementation (Workday, SalesForce, G-Treasury), Internal Audit, Fraud Risk Assessment, Project Management, Business Process Controls & Design and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
